I did not want to come in today...

The weather here has finally turned. Yesterday we had beautiful, sunny, 70 degree weather and now we are hit with clouds, rain and cold. Yucky. Especially when you have to wake up at 6:30 AM and drive to work. I'd much rather be in bed.

Last night my friend L came over with her baby daughter. Her little girl is SO CUTE. She was wearing the cutest little white fur coat and matching hat. She looked like a little Russian baby. :) L came over specifically to look at jewelry and ended up buying eight pieces! How exciting.

I am sooo ready for our trip. I talked to my dad yesterday and he let me in on some of his plans for our visit. He is going to take us crabbing (for coconut crabs), hiking, deep sea fishing, golfing and camping on the beach.

Here is more info on coconut crabs, if you're interested:

COCONUT CRABS
The coconut crab is a large edible land crab related to the hermit crab, and are found in the tropical Indian and Pacific Oceans. They eat coconuts for a living! How would you like to be on an island and come across a crab that is more than 3 feet from head to tail and weighs up to 40 pounds, with a pair of large pincers strong enough to open coconuts! They can climb trees too, but they only eat coconuts that have already fallen to the ground. Coconut crab meat is considered a local delicacy.

Need someone to uh, carry your luggage? ;) That trip sounds FUN! You must post pix of the coconut crabs. I can't imagine a crab that big?

Oh forget it--I was trying to hide the photo of the crab (it is not the prettiest creature, which is why I am trying to hide it), but can't seem to make it work. :)

I know, doesn't it look scary???! But it tastes DAMN GOOD. :) The meat is comparable to lobster (some locals say it's better than lobster!).

*sigh* I miss Guam. I was born and raised there and came to US when I was 10 years old and never been back. I must say, I've never had the pleasure of tasting a coconut crab before, sounds delicious though. Would you mind if a Guamanian/Filipino added you as a friend?

Of course not! I'll add you too. Your screen name sounds familiar...are you from WC?

Thanks! I have added you as a friend. And yes, I'm from WC. I'm trying to wean myself from there since I'm no longer a newlywed. Besides, LJ is so much better in terms of privacy and the freedom to say whatever you want.

I agree--LJ is great!

I thought you were from WC--I think you posted in my wedding planning journal a looong time ago. I am islandbride on WC.

Thanks for finding me! I love chatting with fellow Guamanians and WCers! :) Where on Guam are you from?

I was born and raised in Tamuning, Guam. My most fondest memory of Guam, is when we used to go to Ypao Beach just about every weekend. I miss Guam terribly. I haven't been back in SO long. One day, I promised my hubby that I would show him where I came from.

And yes, I do remember you now from WC. I did post in one of your journals before and lost track of you for some reason. Do you still post on WC? I still have two journals over there (under the same username).

I don't post too much on WC anymore, and I have stopped journaling there. I like LJ much better.

I was raised in Agana Hts. I left the island when I was 17, for college, and have not moved back. I try to visit once a year or every other year since my family is still there.

You should definitely take your hubby to Guam! The island has changed quite a bit, though, so you might get shocked. :) My husband has been there four or five times now.
